does anyone know how to get the strips that go horizontaly across the dash off? i got one half off but it would be good to know if there are any hidden screws. the plan is to paint them black.

No screws. They just clip out, like half the BA interior. Be careful not to snap anything, the plastic is fairly brittle.

Yeah ive painted them in my ba as well, except i painted my silver, they look identical to the XR ones. to get em off, open your car door, on the side of the dash there is a plastic cover, (You can't see it with the door closed) gently pull this away, there is a clip hidden under it, it was the one i couldnt find at first. Other than that they should just unclip by gently pulling at them.
