will the au xr6 ecu work in the earlier models, and if so will it increase power to au specs (non vct)?

No it wont work, and no it wouldnt increase power.

The EL ECU, along with Broadband manifold, and a touch more compression should bring you roughly up to EL power levels - which is the same as AU anyway.
