If the battery is 2 years old it is at the end of its usefull life a battery this old will still be good if the car is driven every day but leave it for on or two days and it WONT START. unless you have a high quality ( and very expensive ) battery today's batteries have a usefull life of 18 months to two years.
Some Batterys manufactured by the yanks are a calcium battery and these batterys can sit for long periods of time up to 18 months without having to be charged (providing you dont have a big draw). AC delco make them ALCO make them and there not all that expensive. Threw one in the ute a while back and its sits for say 1 - 2 weeks at a time and full crank and no problems when its needed. Guy I know has a rod has his sit for 6 months and fires like a new one. Lead acid batterys are quickley becoming a thing of the past. |
