this has been bothering me since i put it back in theres like a machined surface under thesynchroniser gear and another one in the block where it locates looks like it should have a thrust washer there, mine didnt have one ive had a look in a manual doesent show anything even ford parts doesent show anything. there is a type of thrust washer half way up the unit by the bearing anyone got any info ? cheers

I dont recall a thrust washer or anything. I can check when I get home though...

cheers xr8ute i checked with the reconditioner that did the heads he cant remember there being one either so it must be ok i spose

Just got back in from the garage then...no shims or thrust washers of any sort
