The Purge Cannister is used to collect and hold petrol vapour from the fuel tank - the vapour is then released (purged), as required, into the inlet manifold to be burnt off.

thats actually really smart. do any other cars use it?
i supose it goes up one of those pipes i saw while swapping out the filter last week? knew one was supply, return and vapor.
