I now know my EB V8 does not cut out at 180. By the speedo it reached 205 before I ran out of road and had to slow down. So there goes my theory of it being limited. I have also come to realise that though there is less that 20KW between the I6 (in EB 2 tune) and the Ghia the V8's torque is bloody great and makes it a much faster car.

When standard, they are VERY low stress engines. I mean, look at the e-series... 5.0L fuel injected V8 and only puts out 220 hp, albeit very comfortably.

Prob the benefit of having an engine that's had 30 odd years of refinements made to it. A bloke in SA pulled one down after 220,000km and could still see machining marks. Lol, having spent 2 years cramming 7.5psi into mine, i dont know if she'll go THAT long.

Twice the length it is from the centre to one end... The windsors were well built well from what i have heard my uncle blabbering on about them |

Oh and samftr, thats a small block Chev in that Corona thanks danny. sounded meaty and tough as that thing! well I reckon by the sounds of it I'd rather a windsor, than the standard s**t inline six with its ongoing coolant leaks oil leaks and head gasket problems

Depends. If it's an EB V8, then it should go the distance.

However, if it's EBV8's engine, then it will burn a heap of oil. Suffer from heat exhaustion and eventually die. |
