i think i took the wrong one out.... i removed to one closest to the front of the car, installed the new one and the old one is still working....what have i pulled out ????

ECU coolant temp sensor is the one with the 3 wires running from the plug.

The dash temp sensor is the single wire plug to the rear of the thermostat housing.
