I have been looking at the hei distributors on ebay with a view to putting one into a marinised 302 windsor, to replace an old Mallory unit.
The distributor in question has a coil built into the top of the distributor cap with all the electronics in the rotor button (as far as I can tell) They sell for $74.95, which sounds like excellent value for money.

Questions for the forum:
Are these items any good?
Has anyone used one to replace points?
Were the results worth the effort?
