Thats what I have done with most of mine. As far as i've been told, you arent allowed to keep the plates over here, they have to be held at the licence centre, incase they are to be used to commit crimes etc  . That was the word from the licence centre upon exchanging plates for the ute. Might just go for W.A not too sure.

Say you lost one, or two, get replacements, did they cost you 950? usually a lot cheaper than that.

Here in SA once you pay for personalised/custom plates they're yours and will never be available again (unless you hand them in). As far as replacements go, thats not a bad idea Bowsaw. The reason that you can sell custom plates for that much is that he has them and noone else does or can have them...kinda like an investment.
Anyway not gunna hijack the thread anymore......good luck with the sale
