Guys I lost my tyre today in the m5 tunnel as 4 of my 5 wheel studs broke clean off!! What is the cause of this? The wheels were tightly on and the nuts were also checked 1 hour before it happened. Luckily my traction bars kept the car off the ground and allowed it to slide to safe stop.

May have been over tightened a few times and weakened the studs.

Do the wheels have EXACTLY the same size hole in the middle as the size of the wheel hub?
