would an EF gearknob fit onto an EA shaft or is the thread too small and do i have to get an EF one?

i screwed it on, but it is still very loose like i can twist it with one finger.

would putting some masking tape or something on the thread make it fit more snugly?

mate get some of that plumbers tape that plasticy cloth type of stuff rap that around the shaft and she be right as rain....
