Hi I have a broken boot Strut mount on my 99 AU Fairmont does any one know if they are easily replaced?

2003 BA XR6 Written off
2001 AU Falcon - Run around

Spoke to the Ford dealer this morning the new one has to be spot welded in and costs $22.65

I think I will get my brother to make up a new mount out of a bonnet one and mount it to existing mount either via pop rivets or bolts.
