does anyone know how to bypass the boot harness on the eb / nc harness to trick smartlock that it is still there??

What car do you have and what computer do you have? The only thing that the smartlock module needs is a signal from the keybarrel. All it is is pretty much a hotwire protection. It has no input from the boot harness.

Utes and wagons don't have the boot hooked up, so just leave it unplugged.
