I was just wondering how much these days for an EF-EL V8 or an AU V8 engine? I was thinking as soon as my Ghia engine dies iid like to shove a V8 in there instead.

theres a V8 in the quokka - full engine/loom/gearbox everything - $2500. its been in there for weeks - maube cause its dodgy, but maybe just cause no-ones interested in it!

that or there was a 1997 EL V8 w/ 17" rims, all the s**t - w/ front end damage, for $4900 - with only 150,000kms on the clock - i was tempted!

Kool that gives me a rough idea but i think i still have atleast 50,000 to 80,000 left in my engine at the moment so it wont be for a while yet, although i do about 25,000kms - 30,000kms a year.

Where's the fun in that Frank? lol

Darren from ferntree has an AU (200kw i think) 302w.... sump to plenum, think needs accessories and loom etc. for $2500. That's better suited for fitting into an existing 5.0L e-series IMO.

Have seen them on ebay, eg EB 5.0L for $3k with everything - complete motor, ecu/tcm, loom and box.

EB-EL V8 are all the same... except EL FBT/GT/XR8 II

Or go Waggin style and pick up a wrecked 5.0L with everything ya need
