can anyone tell me if its normal for the top hose to swell up, i have replaced thermo housing and thermo and hose, also which way does the thermostat go into the car, with the sring facing the heads or facing towards the top hose

not normal!
mine was doing it for a bit. replaced thermostat and now it seems o.k. it must have been sticking or something. top of thermostat goes in the housing. spring part goes in the manifold.

cool ill get another thermostat wasnt sure due to replacement of housing,thermostat and hoses
