How about a speedo transducer hooked up to a battery and a drill to turn it?

that might work but i should have explained better i am wiring a speedway car i have all the wiring diagrams ect but i just wondered will it make a difference if have the Speed Sensor wired into the ecu

if its auto? yes it needs to be conected
but if its manual no it doesnt....
