Yep, I would upgrade brakes, and not just a s**t rotor change.
Springs/swaybars/shocks and then tyres depending on money. Pull every last bit of crap out of it.

what do you reckon a neat good nick s13 would go for?
the only one i found on carsales was an s14 with work done to it for 14k http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/pri ... 13&trecs=1 my brother and I were going to organise between our mates a race championship with a maximum purchase budget of $500 each to race around in paddocks ![]() sign of the times.

That s14 doesn't look to bad, it's had the dollars spent in the right places.

physics says it will lose torque downlow, considering this is probably going to be used for peak torque above 3000rpm and the guy suggested using a blower I'm pretty sure it would be more beneficial with only headers...
If you chucked a straight through pipe on there without a cat, however, it might prove more beneficial, but you would need to figure out the right length/diameter.

Purely what i was getting at when i said dump it after the extractors ![]() Besides with a pretty small budget of $3500 to better the car who would bother with spending extra for a full length exhaust when it probably wouldnt make stuff all difference to lap times? If i was doing this little challenge myself, personally i wouldnt spend the money on the blower, it would go more towards suspension and brakes as most people would do with just basic engine mods to get it breathing better. I just wanna see someone fit the Raptor blower and haul it round a track for 30 laps ![]() ![]() |

meh, they are f**k anyway. If they had bought a stock el for 2grand they might have a chance, but as is they won't have much money left after the brake upgrade which will be necessary if they want more than a few laps out of it.

Basically this challenge was a fail as soon as they spent $6500 on the car with a $10000 budget
![]() It will be interesting to see what becomes of this EF XR6 though ![]() |

Yeh, theyre pretty fuked already with that much spent on the car itself.
An EB XR6 or S pac manual may have been a better bet, and at 1500 or less much better on the budget. Could have afforded the big brake upgrade (1k off ebay), as well as forced induction we'll say $4k and a 50mm radiator (bout 500) + thermos. Then you've still got plenty for springs, shocks, swaybars, 16/17s with semi slicks. Even EF XR6s can be had pretty easy for about $4k...... ![]() |
