In this case it was more that the plastic had gone all powdery and needs all the assistance it can get for the paint to stick to it even after I have sanded and wire brushed it.

Looking really nice BenJ
 I like it alot  I do have a question and im sure its been answered before but the Bonnet vents (the word escapes me but thatll do), are they from an aftermarket manufacturer similar to how you can buy the BA buldge from ssv, or are they a true pair from an XA-XC that you grafted on?.. Im looking to do the same thing to my XH has I think they add a nice touch of aggressivness. Thanks ~Fazza

It is all XB GT Steel welded in by SWC.
I believe you can buy after market Fibreglass replicas however, and there was a seller on Ebay for a while. There is plenty of detail in my thread, and the front page has an index of the important parts. Cheers BenJ

Have spare insert here and could be convinced for the right $. May have a Fairmont Bonnet with scoops for sale soon if I get the right price. |

Body Kit Progress 5
I took another short day today and made good use of the time. I have repainted the BA XR Bar in primer, and then the flares. I cut the passenger side guard out so the indicator lens would fit, and then wet sanded the flares. I was keen to see the flares on the car in black, so I got out the Jet Black paint and lay down some colour. The gun was doing funny things, and it was only after I was done and cleaning it up, I found the filter was gummed up. I guess that explains the Satin finish on the flares. Looks cool though LOL. I grabbed some quick pics with my iPhone down at the local Bunnings.    I don't know about you guys, but I love it! Cheers BenJ
