I actually had never used the wiper on this car as I never needed it. The XR lip spoiler may effect what happens to the rain and dirt but the onlyway to know will be seeing how it goes. Hopefully it all goes well.

Have a Factory XR6 spoiler on our wagon and dirt etc still collects on the rear window and that is on Sydney roads.

Yep, the XR6 spoiler helps a bit in the rain, but it still gets filthy. That is what a sponge is for.

Still, will probably delete my wiper too.

But I can paint two tailgates and have spare with a wiper LOL.

Hey Ben have you ever had your xr wagon spoiler next to a sedan xr spoiler? The sedan one seems to be alot bigger and that is hat I used on mine instead of a wagon one. Huggie still looking at turbo but at the moment I am leaning towards leaving it N/A and modding the suspension and brakes. The better roads around here are all twisty so I might just try make it somewhat of a twisty terror although around here it leaves almost every car for dead already. Really low cars, big wheels and moron drivers = slow on rough roads. I am so glad I didnt dump the car on its a** and got rid od the 20's

The Wagon spoiler is completely different to the sedan lip spoiler. I have had both.

There are some pics in my build thread somewhere.

Cheers

Yeah I know they are different hence why I decided to use the sedan one as a base. I took the car out for an almost hour long thrash this morning after getting the rego paid and despite a a coulpe of tiny issues it run extremely well for first real run in almost 3 months. the motor was really strong as was the gearbox which has definately transformed the car.

I took it threw some twisties gentley at first and gradualy kept stepping it up and the brake were great as was the handling. The rear ended had a tendency to want to step out on some of the rougher corners but was nothing major. This afternoon or tomorrow morning my intake will be finished as the shop is waiting for some 3inch pipe to finish it. As soon as its on and I have gone for a drive I will add some pictures.

Oh as it happened it rained while I was driving and the rear window had no problems with the light to moderate fall. The rear bar did how ever come off one of its mounts completely but it was only half on anyways so when it stops raining I will try get the mount back on and possibley work out a way to fit and extra mount.

Well I got part of my induction done. These are pictures of the box part of it. The top piece has been cut but wont be welded on until I make sure of its position. I need to chop of the top of the tube to allow the filter to fit snuggley, fit the drivers side mount and notch the front to clear the oil cap

Once its all together I will clean up all the welds the shop did and give it a coat of paint

I could have done it myself no problems. It was just easier to have the local shop make it although the way his welds look it could have worked out better for me to do it.

Here are some pictures of the induction. The box is secure but not the filter which will wait because due to the heat from welding its warped and just needs to be bent into shape. Also the scoop doesnt bolt on yet due to me loosing the nuts for it.

The bonnet needs the hole made bigger on the passengers side of the car so it clears the scoop and box. Here is a very short video of it. hopefully tomorrow I can have the bonnettrimmed and attempt another video.

unfortunately I didnt touch the car today as I spent the entire day in Warick. I did how ever pic up the nuts to attatch the scoop and some longer bolts for the bonnet hinge I am thinking of lifting the rear of the bonnet to allow hot air out of the engine bay but even if I dont do that I can use the nuts and bolts to secure the filter. It also looks like the boonet will get more cuts tomorrow if all goes well.

i wouldnt bother, as on a cold morning or evening you will have to have your wipers on constantly as the heat coming out will fog up your window.
