I find that washing the car improves performance, reduces rattles and increases enjoyment

LOL

You have a good base to start on.

Will be cheaper to add a better engine by the sounds of it.

If it makes you feel better, my key remote i fixed had a dry solder, and i had to painstakingly take it apart and fix it. Took me like 10mins to do but i will never have those 10mins back.

And fixed a window squeak i had when the window wound up. That took 2mins to do.

LOL
gasgets are ordered, just over 200 including headbolts, need to machine the head and buy oil/ coolant and factor in other odds and ends like the flywheel machine($40) and other problems that may pop u. Also considering a small exhaust porting job depending on the price.

all the gasgets were purchased today, i was going to purchase xr6 valve springs brand new but paul from cve changed my mind into the ones he uses when he builds an engine, stronger springs for the lift of the cam i want, a set of hardened retainers and hardened locks. aparently they are very good for around 190kw. now i need to decide on a big cam, or a port and big cam, the car wont be getting fixed for a little while longer now if im getting a port job, as ill have to save, but i think it will be worth it in the end, it all comes down to wether my boss comes through with the same amount of work ive been doing lately, if im still getting the money im getting now then there will be a port job and cam. if not i may aswell fit a cam anyway since ive bought these springs. i would be happy with around 140-150-kw anyway.

If your short of cash buy a ozitio dremel kit from burnings for $50 and give it ago your self . Plenty of diy porting jobs on google .

When I had 157 rwkw it was good but wanted more . I reckon you could get 170rwkw with 1521a, cms3 or dev 5 and ported head , tune etc .

my mate doesnt believe that a standard eb with a few standard parts from other model fords is as fast as a ve sv6 with extractors and a full exhaust/cold induction(14.6 second 1/4 mile) lol, the more he doesnt believe s**t i say the closer i get to just going all out on this while the engines pulled apart, not sure weather to shave the head for compression or wether to leave it :?
i own one of them ozito dremels, might do a youtube search later tonight while watching my ncis season 6 episodes

Lol Bry, I've kept up with a few VE SV6's and mines only got extractors, zorst, hi flo cat and some intake mods. From 80 - 160km/h I was actually a nose in front and still gaining on a VE SV6 ute with an exhaust from what I could tell...
I guess it is an XR6 but still I was so surprised
For what they are the old E series go alright with a bit of mods :)
