They are paving slabs and I hate them... after a while they sink and rise and it's a mogrel getting an engine in a crane over them... wish the shed was empty.. up the back is a full size pit.. but my XC sundowner panelvan is covering it ATM.

I am hopeless at putting tools down and needing them 2 minutes later and not being able to find them.. so I stick everything on a wall and make sure I put it back where I got it from.

Just bought a new car.... probably paid to much ($900) as it's not the Ghia it says it is in the ebay add.
(it is complete, full of fairmont ghia bits and pieces and has a full and working Gas system....

Basically there was some rust inside the drivers door of the other EL I have.. but when I checked, it's much worse than I thought at first.. (its structual.) was hidden under paint and stuff.

Image

So I went and got another one...

It's a light blue 97 EL with all the Ghia mod cons inside.. it was once turbo'd and has what seems to be a rather lumpy cammed engine with a full gas setup... nice extractors and high flow cat and 2.5 inch exhaust that looks as new. Someone has gone a heap of working making everything inside black and most of that looks pretty good. (like the dash) Has a polished rocker cover also and fairmont rims (think they are anyway) and is lowered....

Some photos.

Love the black dash.. the black suede roof lining and the black carpet.. will go nicely with the black AU seats I just bolted into the other EL.... but I prefer my door trims and stuff.. so will sell these ones cheap I think.. (just fairmont jobs I think)

It also has stuff like Ghia boot spear and stuff as well. has loads of grunt too I must say.. engine has lumpy idle on gas or petrol.

basically I might just bolt the supercharger and associated bits straight into this car without doing the engine transplant.. if it had a turbo before, it's possible that it has been built for it. since their was a box of lifters in the back.. and no lifter noise from the engine, I'm guessing they were changed too. I'll probably sell the altizza lights as the original ones are on the back seat.

Looks like it should come up good with a wash. If the body is clean I wouldn't complain about the price at all, there are some good bits in there such as the Fairlane cluster.

BTW the wheels came on the classic edition falcons, and are named as such.

yeah yeah... dude, I've also had a kid and moved house in that time.

This newer car solves a problem I had where I wanted to get gas, but didn't want to try taking a supercharged falcon over the pits to get the gas install verified. It is one of the main things I was stressing about.

I also don't have to fix rust anymore so things should go much quicker now. all the stuff needed for the supercharger is done now, I just have to get the rest of a car up to scratch so I can put it in.

Sure mate, no probs, however 4 springs and 2 struts are pretty heavy.. the shipping is likely to be more than I'm wanting for the bits. I'll find out for you.

Hi EFFII,

Artic blue it is then.. I was surprised at just how good it looks in that color with the clear taillights as I wasn't expecting it.

Mine will not be staying that color I'm afraid.. I've decided that when the body is all done and the new front and rear bars and skirts are on that I'll be painting the whole car that electric blue BA color.

I'll get a photo for you of the back in this colour later.

Thanks Frankieh, hold it for me as I'll take it, I don't mind if I have to pay a bit for post, just tell me how much. Though you had ignored me in the forsale thread, alot of sellers seem to be only half-serious these days.

Anyway, let me know how much and I'll take them for sure. Cheers.

Need to get a boot lock and key I think.. looks nasty without it. How do you get a lock that matches the key for the other doors too? don't want a second key just for the boot.

Has been just one day.. but today I pulled out all the seats and tossed them.. then did the same to the center console and all the other bits that looked like crap and replaced them with all the bits from the other EL... the black AU seats I converted to EL look awesome in an interior where they are not the only black item in the car.

Still have to do the door trims as I'm not leaving the black ones in there.. and then swap the 18 inch rims on there.. then get the gas install checked and then send it over the pits for gas and rego..

when all that is done, bring it home and stick supercharger and XR/GT headlights and front bar on.

Now that I don't have rust to worry about..and this car is pretty much street legal as is... things should move along much faster.
