Any idea of power output?
I'd say its got a bit more in it then considering no current tune.

only a seat of the pants idea. thats about it. keeps 297kw hsv's honest put it that way. anything below that i wouldnt bother. sounds awesome too. someone once told me they couldnt hear me til i was about 2 or 3 car lengths behind them, then just sounded like a rocket going past then just hammering away...

Certainly sounds nice mate.
I take it its been fairly modified since that dyno day that was in street fords where it made 149rwkw?

yeah i actually had pacemakers on it then.......hate em. they were leaking like a sieve.
you should've seen the AFR that day...made me cringe......its since had new headers, the exhaust changed around a bit, and a bit of a tune up. i hadnt touched it between the time i got it and that dyno day. oil change and everything.
havent had it on a dyno since. been too busy

Gee, i thought it was running a bit more work than that by the way you described it just then and previously. Its not far off what im running at the moment and i managed 157.5rwkw(211.2rwhp). Mods in sig below.
Certainly is a very nice example though, no doubt about that. Would love to see dyno results now.

yeah it was running really badly that day.
there has been a few minor things done to it.... but yeah its all good. should be pushing over 200kw at the wheels now i think. i'd like to see a dyno result myself, but i just dont have the time to get down to autotech to do it. work takes it outta me

For 200kw at the wheels, there must be some alloy heads or at least a set fo GT40P's with a decent cam and r/rockers etc.

I'd believe it.

Most GenIII's lack midrange torque, in a 'traffic light' drag situation a well sorted 302 and especially a 347 will dispense with them quite nicely. They may have a superior top end hp figure, but the mid range leaves a lot to be desired.

A 347 we did recently with a set of AFR 185s and a small Comp cam made approx 60ft/lb more torque at 3000rpm than a Gen III HSV. It recently shamed a VE SS on the streets as well.

Just a small and somewhat dissapointing update here, It will be approximately 3 weeks before the engine can get into the shop to even start the build, but its not that bad coz the ute itself hasnt gone into the paint shop yet so once the body's in the shop i'll be looking at 4-6 weeks before i get it back.
So just patiently waiting at the moment

G'day guys, GOOD UPDATE here.
Big change of plans has happened but good news it should hopefully be up n running before end of the month.
First change of plan was get it all up n running once engine back in, run it in for a few weeks, then send it off to paint shop, instead of going to paint shop whilst engine out. :?

Next change of plan, this is the one im lovin, engine is finally going in to get started on saturday but not at the original place, its now going into the trusty hands of Dave and Leon at A1 Hi Performance.
After almost 2 months of patiently waiting for a phone call to say the motor can go in :( , i thought bugger it i'll get onto Dave and see what he says. Well e-mailed him in the morning, and by the afternoon he rang me back asking me when i can bring it in. :D

So as of Monday next week i'll be keeping you guys updated, cant explain how stoked i am to have it all on the go.
