Does the HI-6S have the stage limiter?

No worries.
I belive it does have the stagelimiter function also.

I still cant get the rev limiter to work  . Pete any idea if the way i described it above is correct. Im hoping im setting the dials wrong and that the problem doesnt lay deeper.

Well even if you had the dials reversed it would have limited at 5400 yes?
Set em both to 2 and see what happens.
You wired it right and there's only two ways to use the dials...I'd say you have a dodgy unit.

No worries i'll set them both to 2 and see what happens. When i first hooked it up they were set on 3 and 5 and it revved past 3500rpm but i didnt try 5300rpm.
Will try it tomorrow and see how i go. If it still doesnt work i'll give Dave @ A1 a yell and see what he can do.
Cheers for that Pete.

Try a 12V feed onto the yellow/white wire and set the rev limiter to 3500 for example... It should activate the stage limiter (not really what we want but it will test that its working).

If its not then by all means get it back to me and I'll get a replacement organised. I'll contact Crane's Tech dept first thing in the morning regardless.

Cheers mate, the luck has already struck;).
As for the cap, as far as the invoice says from Dave @ A1 its - A45FM-6766-MP46. If that doesnt work try giving him a ring ;)
Pretty sure the 4.0L cap is the same as the std 5.0L one so yeah i reckon it'll fit.

As said above i had some good luck today as far as the rev limiter issue goes. Just dummied up a 12v feed straight from the battery, through a fuse, to the yellow/white wire coming out of the HI-6S, set the limiter to 3000rpm and, walah!!, fixed.

So i'll have to wire it properly now through with a 12v feed but only on ignition. Couldnt find anywhere practical in the engine bay so i may get it from inside the cab and run the wire with my AEM UEGO wires. Or do you think it'd be okay to pick it up from the 12v supply to the coil? Well what now goes to the plug in harness to the HI-6S. If thats okay it'd be much easier.

Was looking at setting limiter to around 5800rpm as peak power was found at 5600rpm. That'd give more some nice room for error and keep it nice and safe under 6000rpm

I took a few pics throughout the install but im having a bit of trouble with photobucket. So once i get it sorted i'll throw them up for you all to see.

Crane box is now completely finished as i wired up the 12v feed for the limiter this morning. Ended up running it through the firewall and picking it up off cigarette lighter.
Limiter is no set to 5800rpm and works a treat.
I did take a few pics throughout the install of the Crane box as i was going to do a bit of an install guide but im having trouble resizing pics through photobucket so i'll have to hold off on that for now.
I will however post up a nice big pic of the engine bay as it is now. Note the Ford Racing billet oil cap cover, the Tickford T/B, Crane coil and positioning of the HI-6S box.

Big decision now, Get the TKO kit now or get a Kaaz diff with 3.9's fitted first then get the TKO once cash allows again. Will have to think about it.

Cheers Fellas.
KAAZ with 3.9's could be the go. Pretty sure i'll have a spare T5 sitting here soon so if this one gives up i'll have a replacement for a while whilst i gather the cash up again for the TKO. We'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks.

millard455, the oil filler cap was ordered through A1HiPerformance over here in W.A.

Yeah hopefully i will have enough time to think and make a decision by the end of the week. Looks like the KAAZ will be getting the go though.
