Yeah slowly is definitely a good describing word... I got the letter today to say the money had been banked from Aus... made ME pay the conversion fee's ($30 something but prob' didn't realize, no worries). You see, our banks send us a letter when we received foreign funds, and it outlines everything, ehere it has come from, how much ,fee's involved etc. That was for the first 600, still waiting on the final $300... no reply from him in a few days after a few PM's so it looks like it's time to get back onto the email machine. Fiend stirred up head office pretty well, basically had them at his knee's so i will email them now to let them know progress.

LOL yes RD, 600 Aus is about 5000 kiwi now days, f**k madness it is. Lol i bought a Casette tape off EVL a while back, s**t, by the time i got it posted to NZ and converted to NZ, it cost me $86 for a Falcon/Fairmont/Fairlane/LTD user casette... lol. It is now sitting in a gold plated safe in a Swiss bank, protected by four brutish white body guards.

Good god - You should just use PAY PAL or set up an auction on TRADEME for "NOTHING AT ALL - $600" and get him to purchase it with his credit card. Sod him.

Anyways, your link to your TRADEME in your signature isn't working - If I am logged in to TradeMe and I click on your signature link it takes me to my own listings. If you're not logged in, it takes you to the LOGIN PAGE.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listin ... ber=120931 (works for me)
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listin ... er=1056429 (works for you)
I think you simply have a URL added at the end of your actual URL which is throwing TradeMe off the scent of what you actually want it to do and it is redirecting to "MY LISTINGS", which you must be logged in to see, of course.

I did reply to head office Ultratune, but just gave them your details. I say start finding every site you can leave comments on and doing just that. Wait until late next week and ring the guy I forwarded the email from.

Rant over, and 600AUD is not worth 5000 NZ PESO. Don't be silly.

Cheers buddy, i'll amend that link soon so people can go and spend s**t loads on my auctions 8-)

Haven't heard from them yet, but i will email them soon once i get the final cash payment from Eric to say that everything has been sorted. Buying some parts from "The GearBox" on eBay, they have over 5400 100% positive feedback so must be good.
Seeing as the AU boxes are fitted with the better Z gear sets, it's costing me more.

the ratios look quite good:
1st - 2.95, 2nd - 1.94, 3rd - 1.34, 4th - 1.00, 5th - 0.68

$US400 for the cluster and 2nd/3rd/4th gear.
$US370 for the overhaul kit including bearings
$US160 for postage

Tossing up whether to get someone to build it or have a crack my self, don't really want to screw it up though, would rather have the piece of mind knowing it was done properly, know any good places in NZ that would put it all together for me for a reasonable price? The gearbox factory in auckland are rip off artists, they quoted me "inspection, tear down, second hand gears, overhaul kit, put back together: $2550 + GST." STUFF THAT

Anyway on another note, i have found a new love......MetalCote Anodized spray paint!!! Bought some from SuperCheap yesterday, have so far done the 5.0 V8 place and the Maf housing. Looks tops!! It seriously looks as though both parts are genuine anodized aluminum. Would have looked even better if the surfaces were chrome though.... Here is a pic, doesn't show how good it is at all though, just looks like blue paint in the photo's. It's amazing how satisfying a sunny day, coat hangers hanging on the line with parts hanging off them, and cans of paint are.

Fiend: Yeah i was looking at that box, bit expensive for me, plus i couldn't be f**k putting in the hydraulic setup/afford it.

The paint looks really good, but now you know you will have to keep going with the rest of the motor, don't you? lol  There's still a few bits n pieces that could be painted to make it look even better, but i'm sure you have thought this already!

I'd love to spruce up the engine bay in my EB, but i don't want to just do a couple of bits, so i'm leaving it alone, i am however in the process of painting & general tidying up in my mighty boy's engine bay, as i've got plenty of time to play with it's bits n pieces............

Cheers

+1

Looking pretty good there mate. Anodize paint is the shizz man, im hooked on the red anodize, do it just enough and it almost looks like a candy colour  ..

How hard would the upper intake manifold be to polish up? Has it got much pitting/casting marks? I reckon, if it was polished up or chromed and the throttlebody was in anodized blue it would look bloody awesome 8-)

Hows it going with that guy from Ultratune? (eric?) Has he fronted up with the rest of what he owes you yet?

Cheers fellas, i'm going to do the Thermo fan mod soon, so i then can fit the AU engine cover, also painted in blue lol. I started to try polish the manifold up when i first got it, but it is COVERED in pitting and casting marks, i would need AGES to do it, not to mention motivation. A couple of others on here have done it, and said how much of a b**ch it was to do.
Keep trying to find some little pieces here and there to do lol. Super cheap has become my fav paint store, they have cabinets upon cabinets of the stuff, it's like a candy store. I even found well priced cans of Cardinal Red car paint spray, so i'll be getting a few cans of that to touch up a few things.

I was considering getting a polished tubular GT40 manifold from the states eventually, they look pretty damn good, but they go for about $400US.

He has paid me a total of $900 which is what we agreed on, so that's cool. Now i'm just waiting on a postage quote to send these parts i have sold to Shoey so he can pay me, and i can start ordering T5 bits!!

Lol where ya been!
Yeah i know, crazy aye, but hey at least i managed to get something back, bugger all, but atleast something. It's costing me a s**t load more than what i got back but oh well. I will have basically a brand new T5 by the end of it. the only bits being left in the box is Fifth and reverse gears, and the selector forks. I'm sticking in some Bronze fork pads and i was thinking of trying out one of the billet steel cluster support parts, because apparently when wear sets in, the standard cluster brace sags and puts wear on the gears or something???

Yeah Fiend was great lol, basically told them what was going on and they better f**k do something. I have not however, heard back from them.... funny that.

Now heres a tough call,

Buy some side skirts and put off the T5 for a couple of weeks, or skip the skirts and get the T5 parts... what ya reckon?! They're pretty cheap, $250 for a pair of BA wagon skirts.

True, i keep thinking that....but it's very tempting lol. What do you pay for skirts in Oz?
Another thing thats stopping the T5 is the friggen courier company is taking AGES to reply to my quote to send a box of parts to Oz. I sold the complete intake setup to Shoey, all that's waiting for is the courier price so he can pay me, then i can pay the gearbox.org

another bummer is, it's $US383 for the gears, but then i just found out that i have to pay an extra $us78 for the pocket bearing input shaft, as the standard kit comes with the (needle?) bearing input.

Talk to the man at the Gearbox place ... Mark or something isn't it?

I needed the pin type (old non world class setup)... Uhm. I guess he might give you $20 off for the non required needles or something? Try emailing him and see what he can offer - he was more than helpful with me and my pathetic little purchase that totaled about $40 USD! Uhm... Good luck!

And yeah - Don't buy any silly knives / sideskirts / womens clothing --- Get the bloody gearbox working for crissakes!

Yeah, he said it will be cheaper going direct, not eBay, obviously. So he just said to let him know when i'm ready to order. I'm considering having a crack at building it my self still, i can't seem to find anyone that will build it. I have emailed a few "Gearbox specialists" from the petrol head magazines, but they all say "sorry can't help".

Yeah lol, i'm holding off from the Knives, sideskirts and womens clothing purchases. I really just want to bloody drive my damn car!!!! The laser is great to drive, but theres a few problems, its not a V8, its not 5.3 metres long and it doesn't feel like i'm driving in my lounge suite. Nor does it quite have the same street cred

Well, there are some small problems, the gear set i need to buy, "The gearbox.org" don't supply, and can't supply, USA mustangs never used this input, so i'm still waiting for Mal Wood to email me back with the parts list, he said it won't be cheap. fully pulled the box apart on the weekend, there is s**t everywhere, the amount of metal stuck to the magnet in the bottom was amazing. Still haven't got the main shaft apart yet as the end synchro hub doesn't want to move, a Gear puller couldn't get it off, nor could a 30cm long brass rod being smashed with a big hammer even move it!! It moved maybe .5 of a mm. Is there anything under neath it that should be undone first? The circlip is off, just the hub won't move
