Luke. I bought one of these brand new, read the wheels magazine test, and bought one that week. Source the original test in wheels about it. I replaced it with an AU VCT. I had both of them at the same time. for a little while. I nearly onsold the au. I swear today as I did then that EB2 Would kick the VCT every day of the week in a straight line. Had no brakes (Neither did the AU) but turned ok. Love it up itl be great. Regards Darren

Is this the one?

If so I bought it when I found it on ebay, its a very good read especially knowing that they were quite quick back in their hey day!
This is also the original sales brochure which I got:

Haha my favourite thing about it is surprising other people off the lights, however yes the brakes aren't the best and while it handles well its not amazing but its still a very fun car to drive!

Do you still have the EB? Should post up a thread on it if you haven't already...

And coultlesss other performance cars of the day, (cordia turbo, 00 WRX Etc Etc). But Hey I Hope its still out there.. It was Red. Woah that's quite an impressive collection
I'd love an 00 WRX as a daily, probably a wagon!
That capri and the escort would've gone pretty hard too me thinks?
I've read a similar magazine, I think it was based on the ED XR6 & XR8 and VR commo S & SS where the ED XR6 was the best all rounder in terms of price, performance and driveability in 1994. Will keep my eye out for the EB XR6 one though!

You should bring the mag and brochure to AFD.

Strange to think that our cars were brand new once.

I remember being in primary school where one of the teachers had a new VP Berlina or something. I was amazed that the aerial would go up and down ALL BY ITSELF! But, you get that when your parents only had a 120Y Coupe and a Camira SL/X auto.

Well back then electric anything was pretty cool wasn't it? :P
Hahaha I'd love an old datsun!
Mine had an XF fairmont when I was born for a few years then traded that in for a 3 year old monza red EB II "S pack" haha!
Besides this black one, dad reckons that was the best car he's ever had, kept it for 12 years which is ages for him to hold onto a car as it was always so reliable!
It was funny though, he bought it for $24,999 or something stupid in 1995 and traded it in for $500 lol
Depreciation at its finest

Yeh It was quite a ride... I ve had my share of performance cars, and someone else's. I still have an XA GT Yellow fire, Black trim, four speed. There is also a long list of Ducati's. Sadly once you have "The disease"it is incurable. The wrx was awesome WRC Blue got it new. everyone will tell you how compliant and fast and easy to drive they are... But Il tell you a secret. right out there at the ragged edge that car would kill you as quick as look at you. So to the cordia turbo. Best car of em all. And by a country mile....... RS Escort. It could smash Xu1s V8 commodes of the day VB VC. it was so talkative. Thats the One I truelly regret.... Daz

Work in progress:

Just experimenting with some nightshade on a spare tail light, theres 3 coats of nightshade with a light sand in between the first and second and two quick (rough) coats of clear of the top.
I probably won't put these on unless I can get them a bit lighter but I'm happy with the finish!
Might try and do the red brake part tomorrow..

Im a tad biased when it comes to Niteshades, but I reckon it looks good.
It's one of those mods where you don't notice it until it's compared with a stock pair of tail lights.

Keep up the good work, Luke.
Keen to see the EB @ AFD.

Cheers,
Russ.

Cheers haha!
Yeah I'm the same, I like it but only so its just noticeable...
Ideally I'd like to tint the garnish so it blends in with the lights but these are just ideas that look good and work in my mind lol

As am I to see the EL!
Mine doesn't look as good in person, trust me!

Cheers, Luke

Not a large update, just some shots before All Ford Day after a buff:
Image

Didn't get any good pictures of the car at AFD, but it was an enjoyable day out among many like minded ford fans!
It was good to listen to people comment on the cleanliness of the car and compare both mine and Ev's "concourse" EB XRs then go and check out the garnish at the back to prove its a genuine XR6 :P
Good times!

Did a few things on my day off today, hit up pick n payless this morning and scored some fairmont boot panel carpet in good nick, fairmont twin horns, a dipstick as mine snapped and a washer bottle from an EF that actually works... so far! I paid a bit more then I would've liked to but I'm fairly happy with the small improvements everythings made.
Some pictures:

Image
Now nice and neat-ish!
Image
Dual horns!
Image
Shiny new washer bottle!

I'm fairly happy with the engine bay now, next up I'd just like to get a new coolant overflow and screw the snorkel down, one day
The boot is also good enough for a boot however I'll eventually get fairmont carpet as it has a more 'plush' feel and looks a lot neater + make up some mounts for some new audio gear including a new amp to power the subs, another new amp to power the speakers and new front splits and other needed accessories like wiring etc.
At the moment though its time to save up for some new disks and pads and probably getting the auto serviced!
I'd love a new set of rims soon too... hmmm...

Next weekend however I'll hopefully be saying bye byes to her for a couple of months as she goes in to get some paint and panel loving
I know it will be worth, it its just going to suck without a car!

Cheers, Luke
