Hey phil mate nice job on the car.. looks sweet. I love the late model rims.. really suit it. i was actually thinking of doing the same cause my dad has an fg xr8 with them and was thinking of selling em and i was gonna put them on my bf gt but he decided against it haha.
Love those exhaust tips too..

Also, howd you get that photoshoot done. I work at Bluescope where all the shots were taken. they look really good. I wouldnt mind coming along to one of those :)

anyway, love what youve done.. keep the updates rolling

Thanks mate! The photoshoot was done by a guy called Clarence Tang or tangcla - here is his fb page https://www.facebook.com/tangcla.photography

He is based in Melbourne but comes up to Sydney everynow and then for a group shoot. There is usually a post in the events section about it.

Little update today, finally had enough of the a*** end rattling so decided to yet again replace the rear sway bar links with the same heavy duty adjustable ones I got on the front, KLC 143 for those of you playing at home. Got them pretty cheap through Greg at GSL Rally Sport. As always some pics to keep things interesting:

Wow those links are thick as hell! So the KLC 143 is the rears, and KLC 142 is the fronts yeah? I found some on ebay for $150 each, but they both say front? Different part numbers, and checking on whitelines website they say those part numbers are rears and fronts.

I'm getting that rattling noise again from my front bar, so I guess I really do need heavy duty links lol

Yeah mate spot on 143 is rear 142 is front. Yeah the rattle noise is gone, but that was only after going back as the locate nut had moved and it was super noisy lol.

Oh really! I got the non adjustable sway bar as I didn't plan on making any changes to it, I'm pretty sure its 22 or 24mm, i got 27 up front. I paid $143 for the links but that was only because I had a 20% off deal that I claimed. Tuff Car Parts was the cheapest i could find after that

22mm is the largest you can go for the rear. Makes for quite a fun ride, seeing as the car just hugs the road so much better than it used too. Also easier for burnouts, as it keeps the a** end level, rather than one side bogging down when turning.

My entire back end makes clunking, creaking noises when I turn, go over bumps, slight lumps, brake, accelerate, downshift, upshift, brake... basically whatever makes my backend move up down left right... it creak clunks... HAHAHHAA

I don't think that's safe... oh well.

Needs new bushes mate lol just get a suspension joint to have a look over it, and they'll tell you what needs doing. How many km's on the XT? I'd seriously look at getting new bushes all round, as well as new shocks/springs.

Yup mine was doing that, spent a pretty penny on the bushes but definitely worth it. Need to get the front looked over as its creaks and s**t whenever I turn

Yeah, it's defiantly constant though... I'll take it into a joint eventually, I hope that it's not causing too much serious damage. I've been quoted a thousand to get it repaired... I currently don't have that much money, I'm saving, and doing my interior. the former being harder to do than the latter.

Your car looks wicket though, I am thinking of a Typhoon body kit on mine once my interior is all polished up and Fairmont ghia looking - (Unless I don't just get a BF 6 speed xr6 before then)

So I stopped by Ford today to finally get them to look at the paint peeling off my door. As you know the shockwave colour had issues with a batch of dodgy paint, I think mine had already been painted before I even got the car however this dodgy bit got worse. I dropped it off in the morning and came back in the afternoon after they had done the pics and paper work. I went back to the Ford I worked at so my mates there lent me the new Ford Kuga - quite a nice car and with the xr5 turbo motor in it, had plenty of power, I was impressed.

My car is with Ford now to arrange a panel beater but they going to respray the whole car! I was kinda hoping they weren't going to do this but oh well at least ill end up with a new look car again. Good thing all my bumpers have been replaced so all the plastics which they won't do is new paint anyways :-)

However while it was parked there some d***head parts truck opened its tail gate onto my bonnet and scratched it all. I was not impressed however at least no dents so when it gets sprayed they will fix it up. Couple of pics to keep things interesting

So update time!

Finally received my car back from the respray after a month of having a 2011 Purple FG XR6 as a rental. I must say I rather liked the new car however would have to get a manual, I wasn't hugely sold on the ZF box.

Anyways the car was at MK Smash Repair in Rydalmere and upon initially looking at the vehicle I was very impressed with the level of work they did. However the next morning when I opened the door into the sun I noticed the inside drivers door arm had been damaged and cracked in 3 places. Not happy I rang them up and sent through an email with the damage. To my surprise the lying .... replied back stating they noticed the damage prior to the vehicle being dropped off and documented it so therefore its my problem to fix as they say it was already there. Well as you all know the level of detail I spend on my car this was a straight out lie as the arm was certainly not like that when I dropped it off.

They responded once more stating its 50% common on this model of car and that I haven't taken good enough care of the arm. What a load of fukn horse s**t! I have rung both Power Ford who I took the care to and they don't have any documentation that it was like that before and rang Ford CRC as well and they know nothing either. The Power Ford warranty guy is on leave till the new year so I will be picking it up then with them as I will load an official complaint through Ford as MK Smash Repair are simply ignoring my emails and have failed to produce any evidence the car was like that before they got their hands on it.

Not only that but on the minor side all around the bottoms of my door sill is all scratched from when they have removed the rubber door seals with what I can only imagine was a screw driver. So while initially I was impressed with their work they did on the outside this soon turned sour once I saw the damage they had done on the inside, therefore please listen to my warning and don't take your car to MK Smash Repair in Rydalmere.

Pictures below as always. I will keep you updated with how I go getting the door fixed.

Cheers

Phil

Sorry to see the level of shoddy work Phil. It's a nice car and it should have been treated better.
They most probably didn't care much as the money they make doing these sort of things isn't what they would like. Ford pays a FIXED amount ONLY.
