Hold the phone on the seat!!!

Went out to survey the issue and noticed that the passenger seat is different in the way it mounts to the base. On the passenger side, there is no up/down adjustment like the drivers side and the base bolts on mid seat and back instead of front and back. On the drivers seat one of the front mounting points is broken so I will be able to swap the drivers seat base on to the passenger seat and the passenger base onto the drivers seat.

The adjuster rail on the drivers seat is bent but found a positive there too. The side that is bent actually bolts on to the frame. So I will need another one and it will be a straight bolt on swap! So now all I am after is a drivers side, outer (nearest the door) adjuster rail.... anyone? :)

Cheers
RD

It was between 3 and 4 hours all up, including smoke breaks and chats...

thats what i was thinking and only drivers seats have all the adjustments--except the upper range-my ltd both are the same.

Nope but it will be saturated in fish oil when I am done with the finishing work - 5 cans of it!

Got a bit done on the ole girl today... no pics yet though.

Reassembled the front end - guards, front bar, headlights and indicators back where they should be and a replacement bonnet catch fitted - the right Fairmont one this time. Also painted and fitted the air stuff and belt cover. Still to do in the engine bay is paint the rust fixes, that is when I find some plain navy blue paint that bloody matches!!! Grrrrr.... Oh, and I pressure washed the leaf channel under the windscreen, Christ was there some rubbish in there! Have to refit the wiper motor tomorrow and clean and paint the plastic coverings.

The seats are now also all back together. I got a new rail for the drivers seat and swapped the set bottoms over. They will be going back in after they and the carpets have been cleaned.

I haven't attended to the rust fixes underneath yet, still to go buy the fiberglass filler and black goop. Hope to have all that done by the weekend. I also fitted 2 EL Futura wheel trims to the chasers to see what they looked like - just wrong on a Fairmont!!! The original wheels all cleaned with roadworthy tyres are eventually going on it... or maybe the Turbo Blades off the white EB S instead - haven't decided yet :)

Cheers
RD

Good to see the rust got sorted, looks like a real good job too.

With the turboblades, dont do it! They belong on Boxcars.

Drop it on EF or EL Mont wheels, will look great. Check out Rick_Deckards EF Mont.

Hehehehehe... just want to see what it looks like with colour coded accents :)

I have a set of EF Fairmont rims that need cleaning, seen another identical car around here that is dumped on Fairy rims and now I want to be different. Wouldn't mind a set of CSA Gladiators but can only get ahold of 3 at the moment and new ones are too expensive. Oh, and can't drop it too much, it is Rachs car. I have EL XR6 springs in at the moment and it sits quite nice.....

what size rims-15,16,17s tyre prices are the factor here.
