Im on it mate, it is deceptively quick...

Ive ordered the items that you sent the link for..

Ive been driving it in short bursts today (at mum and dads) everytime someone wants a drink or food im like " ill get it for you" and then ill say "that needs to be bought from down the shops" lol.

It really is pleasurable now.

Again thanks sam.

Yeah it did especially up higher from 3000rpm to 5000rpm left in drive it feels like it wants more revs as opposed to the h.o dropping off around 4000rpm.

I left a nice set of 11 at mum and dads today just reving @ 6k bouncing off the limiter i was quite surprised how easy it did it with no pinging or anything...

I can thank sam enough.

Also before i put the explorer on i was running 6psi with the 12:1 reg and a 023 fuel pump with timing set @ 28btdc.

After the manifold install @ those same settings it pinged pretty bad...

Thanks to sam having adjusted the WOT spark map it just goes great no ping.

Will see what 24lb injectors will do for me here to tide me over till the LC1 is fitted and i can read afr's... will than add the 42's and turn the boost up.

You're still running the stock MAF yeah?

sounds like i'll be able to achieve my goals with my wagon pretty easy based on your results.

I have a set of 30's here you can borrow if you like. They will make a huge difference than the 19's you currently have. We can work out a payment scheme and price when it suits you. I need a set of 60's for mine.

Brett

Yup maf is the stock 55mm job but im thinking of fitting my C&L 76mm as now it can be tuned.

Sorry brett i already have 42's stashed away till sam n i can sort the maf tuning out.

Car has no problems running the factory maf as blow through you just need to sort the timing out on boost.

yeah the previous owner of my turbo setup was running a very similar fueling setup.

i've already got an explorer manifold so keen to see what results you achieve.

Except for the teeny tiny detail that I'm too scared to touch the fuel mapping while the 12:1 is on there and the load isn't being accurately measured because of the blow-through configuration on the standard MAF. The 12:1 is a reasonable stop-gap for now, but with a 1:1 reg', 42s and draw-through the MAF it'll be dead simple to re-tune the fuel (as easy as tuning an aspirated car).

If you want to come over and put the 24s on this Saturday Brad I'm happy to change the injector slopes for you (or give it just under a fortnight for your hardware to turn up and you'll be able to do it yourself).

Brad's put the 24s in, and I've tweaked the tune to suit (the injector slopes have been changed to match - also, the timing has been fiddled with; a bit less again up top, a touch more again down low). It went hard (alwayd did) and there were no obvious issues with the tune during the run around the block. I think it liked the timing tweaks as well as the extra fuel capacity.
How'd it go on the run home Brad?

Trip home was fairly slow as traffic was moderate, there was this black r33 i wanted to have ago against but he was a good boy and didnt bite.. i came up to a set of lights were my lane ends..

A Bf xr8 pulls up next too me with this bogan looking so and so, he looks over at me with that 'pfft s**t box' look.

I wasnt going to be a hero but when he accelerated (not drove away) i thought stuff it so i hit WOT and flew past him.. as usual loser did the drive by...

Ok i found where the fuel was leaking from.. it wont hold too much pressure either as it basicly squirts out under WOT.

So im going to fix that and pick up my lower control arm bushes on monday.

Tune is easy mate just remove timing in the WOT spark map from 3000rpm on wards i think im down to 9* over all...

It feels safe at the moment and im not going to muck with it too much until i learn abit more about it.. is quite a learning curve.

Ive also been getting stuck in to changing things already Sam lol...

It actually has 17deg' less than standard up top Brad (2deg' less globally at the dizzy and then 15deg less at 5000rpm). It's got up to 7deg' more than standard at part and wide open throttle below 3000rpm.

John, attached is just the WOT spark, but it should give you an idea of what is done. The part throttle map changes were less extreme (it still has more down low and less up top than it did when standard). Additionally, the 'adders' gradually pull timing out as the temps rise (mostly for part-throttle 'cos it still has a number slightly higher than 30 in many of the cells).
Also note that this is just the starting point. Once Brad gets his hardware in the mail he'll be able to fine tune everything as he pleases, whenever he pleases.
