I have lowered the fuel pump 1cm from the bottom of the tank i hope that helps now.. and ive changed the fittings and tightned them properly now it maintains fuel pressure (100psi) and no ping.

After reading some mustang forums the consensus is that timing can be around 18* for up to 15psi.. having mine set low is to preserve the motor at the moment but rest assured there is plenty of room for improvement with only 6psi.

Once im happy with my ability to tune the car and understand it better ill try running up to 12psi with the 42lb injectors and see what that nets me..

One thing; US pump fuel is better than ours.

You're right, with sufficient fuel delivery (which you've partially dealt with already) you will be able to put a little timing back into it, just don't try to put 18deg' in it with 12psi and any brand or type of pump fuel.

On another note, don't just look at the Mustangs for turbo tuning. Any of the turbo Nissans with MAF-based load monitoring (and in the 90s that was pretty much all of them) are quite similar from a tuning perspective, and they all run their MAFs as draw-through.

Yeh true mate i was more thinking up it 2* at a time till its too far than knock back by 4*, btw im not jumping straight into 12psi... im going to take baby steps first, things like adding 42lb injectors + maf with 6psi and then see how good i can make it.

Ive made a few files with different settings ie V2 but with 42's + maf transfer function, then theres a file with load only scaling etc etc.

Good approach, and as you do that you'll just want to put a safe tune in the second memory slot so you can switch to it straight away.

Wait, toluene? Why?

EXACTLY!!!!

I was thinking of having a "safe" tune than switch over to a "more balls" tune with more timing.

Been thinking of things like E10 tunes and so forth.

just as a reference my timing is currently at 17 deg at 10 psi with no sign of pinging..
although with the supercharger and no intercooler the timing was at 13 deg @ 10 psi to stop pinging..

Did you measure your intake temps with both?

Im running the same figures as you. Im tempted to put more boost into but cbf pulling the motor out again anytime soon.

Too many variables for the exact numbers from one car to work on another. Different comp', different fuel, different intake temps, boost coming in at different rates, different cam profiles, and many others mean even the same type of engine will be different from one car to another, let alone another engine type.
What you want to look at is the basic principals, like adding timing when the engine will be off-boost (low loads and revs) and pulling timing out as boost comes in. Also the adders like timing vs temps will work the same on all boosted cars.

BTW, everything I've read says E10 is good stuff in a boosted car

yep, with the supercharger, at the manifold, intake temps on a 28 deg day were 50 deg c cruising and under boost would rise to 70 deg c..

the turbo with the intercooler, today ambient was about 26 deg c and intake temps were 36 deg c cruising and there was no rise in intake temp under boost, :D meaning the intercooler is extremely effective...

sorry for the minor thread hyjack... :)
