Wow ive just burnt my first chip and the changes are awesome..

Timing from 3k to 5k has been increased from 10 to 15 and its picked up heaps, from down low and mid range its been tweaked slightly more its very very torque makes the top end feel alittle flat but its a slow test and tune period.

I pulled sam's chip out and wacked mine in and everythings perfect.

Big big thanks to sam yet again he's been a massive help and i hope i can inspire his tow car and hopefully have some tune solutions for load dependent timing and etc.

So only maps touched so far for this tune is sealevel load timing, wot timing vs rpm and injector sizing.

Yeah, it's amazing how much timing you can put back into an engine once it's getting enough fuel :P

I'm glad it's all working for you. You'll be a DIY tuning guru before you know it.

Well after trying to tune with the 24's and fmu i gave up because the fuel pump seem's to give me the 100psi needed when it feels like it so instead ive installed the 42's with the caled maf and colder spark plugs.

It runs and idles were i set it but it is running rich on cold start so ill look at fixing that.

Sounds deeper just idling, cant drive it as theres bugger all fuel and im broke so test drive waits for a few days.

now that you have the 42 lb injectors and the j3 to tune, you could probably do away with the fmu now..
im running 36lb injectors with the factory fuel reg only...

Mate im going to find the biggest cliff in nsw and the f**k is getting thrown as hard as possible with an expected explosion as it hits the bottom.

42's + 1:1reg ftw.

:D ...
while the fmu can do the job, as it has for you up untill now, but imo there not that great..
atleast with a std or 1:1 reg your fuel leak and pump issues will dissapear... :)

Well looks like my first real tune is 70% done.

Ive been working on this tune since i first tried sam's chip n tune, so far it should be very safe with a commanding afr of 11.5:1.

Maf transfer function has been in put along with injector slopes and WOT timing table no longer has any input so its all done by load as F/I should be.

Theres so much to change that it really takes awhile especially if i first dont understand it.

Well well well aint i a jackass....

Ever heard dont change to much at once?...... or K.I.S.S?......

I basically jumped straight in balls and all only to have my car not only not run properly, but not start at all...

So ive started again this time only telling mreec smart a*** pants that its now got 42lb injectors with the proper hi/low slopes and batv vs offsets...

It starts first turn of the key, idles good and isnt blowing plumes of black smoke.

I am an a*** clown please beat me like a slave owner would.      :(

Just to make you feel really dumb, not being able to start your car yesterday meant you didn't see the brand new (and completely stock) manual GT rip 353rwkW on the rollers and you also missed out on seeing it do a 12.9@114mph.

Just went and put the chip in with all the 'base boost' changes, it starts and idles... i recon a slight idle tweak and idle will be 100%.

8-) Yeah as you know ive had a few setbacks with these past few weeks not being kind to my body...

Trying to get the ecu to read just one hego results in spark plugs getting fouled(i dont know why) so it looks like ill get my exhaust guy to weld a new bung on for the LC-1.

I had been run 42's for awhile and no matter what i did as soon as there was boost it would go so rich i couldn't see the car behind me...

After 'trying' to lean it out alittle it would go rich as soon as there was boost, so i swapped std maf in and it wouldn't start.. i put 24's back in and it still wouldn't start.

Turns out my plugs were fouled and a few vac lines had massive leaks in them....

So im at the stage of just having it running for christmas time so im not carless and atm i feel like s**t so cbf factory is very high.

Btw you enjoying your new found a/c?.
