When do you want to do the seat mods RD? My next couple of weekends are pretty full but we can most likely look at it soon.

I'll be set to go in about a week for the seat mount mods. I have my wifes EB to finish up in the next few days and Sunday/Monday the ED will roll into the back yard to be stripped. I'll ask my wife and kids to give me a hand again with stripping out the interior of the ED, they did a great job in the EL! So basically, any time after that, whenever you are ready. BTW, I am a stay at home Dad and now is school hols so I am pretty much home all the time (aside from taking the kids to stuff).

Forgot that the ED cannot get into the backyard until the old EB is taken away, so Sunday/Monday will be more like Tuesday/Wednesday.

Cool well I have a flexi day from work Monday week so that might work. One arvo during the week might work too with the good old daylight saving!
Ill sort out coming out and getting that bonnet and stuff too to get them out of your way asap.

No probs, sounds like a plan. I'll let you know when she is in place and ready to go. I'll PM my mobile and address for whenever you want to drop by.

Cheers

Ok, couple of questions for those in the know before I start my epic ED/EL transformation journey later this week.

First up, Climate Control sensors. I understand I need 2 - an ambient air sensor and a sun load sensor. As I go about trying to source these - what do they look like! I have no idea what I should be looking for!! Help!

Next, K frame removal. I am guessing the main bolts/nuts are the 4 (or is it 6?) under the car. I know I need to disconnect/remove the sway bar, steering column and the upper end of the struts. It is just those pesky main bolts/nuts I am not sure of. Just checking as I see the nuts are spot welded on the top (engine bay) end and am hoping I do not need to break these spot welds. Oh and of course the engine will be removed beforehand. Can someone confirm that I am indeed looking at the right things.

Thats it for now, the journey is close to beginning now and I am getting excited!

Cheers
RD

Well, good news on my Wanted list. I now have/will have the following to install when the project begins:

EF/EL Velour Sun Visors
Climate Control - have everything now but the sensors
Power Window Regulators
EL Fairmont Door Trims
EL Rear Console lights
NL Fairlane Dome light
NL Fairlane Cluster
EL High Series BEM (the green one)
EL Fairmont Ghia ECU

Still on my WANTED list is:

EL Power Window Switch Panel (4 window switches) - Priority #2 !
EL Fairmont/Fairmont Ghia Dash loom - Priority #1
EL T-Bar surround (the 2 bits) - mine has holes in it from some twit drilling holes!
1 1/2 to 2" Rear Lowering Blocks
EL Steering Wheel - current one is grotty so need a better one.
Fairlane Door Sensors for door open display.
Fairlane/Fairmont (?) Door Lamps
and probably other things I haven't thought of yet :)

I so want to get started now....

Cheers
RD

I'll be starting the extraction of the EL engine today - is there any differences I should look out for compared to EB-ED engines?
