Thanks it looks tops.

One question I had was about all the vacuum hoses that used to be connected up to the BBM.
How do they all go operating if the manifold will now be pressurized? Im wondering about the vacuum lines that run to the cabin, charcoal canister and brake booster mainly..

I havent really been able to find any info on this. Do they all just connect back up and work as normal?

Plenty of people have done turbo conversions so someone must know about it :)

they fit to the manifold as usual, just dont connect the rocker cover breather to the manifold/throttle body call me if you want more details

Yeah the rocker cover breather is the only one u need to worry about, you can either plumb it to a small air filter that goes to atmosphere or plumb it to an oil catch can that breaths to atmosphere or plumb it to intake piping before the turbo. But I wouldn't do the last one as I wouldn't want oil going through my turbo and intake piping.

A gt 4202 ay. That's pretty big. What size rear housing does it have?

Oh and don't confuse your rocker cover breather with your pcv valve. The breather is at the rear of cover and the one at the front has a 1 way valve so it doesn't matter if it sees boost as it will automatically shut when manifold pressure is positive

Yeah am plumbing it through a catch can that breaths to atmosphere.
It seems a pretty big turbo. It has a 0.96 exhaust housing and 0.80 compressor wheel.
Wastegate has a 6 lb spring which I think will be plenty for a stock trans and motor for the time being

Its back from the exhaust shop now. Got a sweet new 3" system from dump pipe back with a 100 cell metal race cat, small straight through muffler, resonator and twin 3" tips. Looks sick

Still been plugging away at it slowly.

Got the intake all bolted on and the coils mounted and plugged in.
Still waiting to get the fuel rail back to put in the injectors and hook them up.

Only thing left after that is the intercooler piping.
From reading other posts there's people who go 2.5" and some that go 3".
I am thinking of going all 3". The turbo outlet is 2.5", the intercooler outlets are 3" and the throttle body is 3.5". Anyone know if 3" all the way for the intercooler piping is good?

I'm running 2.5 " all the way in mine, but that's only because that's what I had at the time.
From what I have heard, you should run cooler piping the same size as ur turbo outlet ie. 2.5" from turbo to cooler. Then run the cooler piping the same size as your throttle body from cooler to throttle body. In my case 3"....

Not sure on 3.5" just take into account the bigger diameter you go the laggier it will be.. And you allready have a pretty big turbo as it is lol.

Yeah that's what I'd read to do as well somewhere but did think the 3.5" may be a little too big.
So maybe 2.5" to the cooler and 3" from the cooler might be the way to go..

Yeah. It's good that your throttle body is closer on that plenum. Means less pipe length as opposed to the bbm style manifolds. How much boost are you gonna run? And what power u wanting to get out of her?

Not sure how much boost will be running yet. The wastegate came with a 6lb spring but will see what power it starts to make once it gets a dyno tune.
For the moment ill be happy with as much power as my transmission can handle say somewhere between 200-230 rwkw. Im not sure really. Trans has a bigger cooler and an electronic shift kit so im hoping it will be ok.

I have LS1 coils but im not sure what ignition leads to get. I need ones with the right plugs for the coils but have to be long enough to go from where they mounted which is about 450 mm at the longest..
Any one any ideas?

what gain do you get out of running ls1 coils as opposed to running the ef coilpack or el dizzy?

I remember reading the same thing about ones you can make up yourself but so far havent found any kits by searching.
Using LS1 coils allows sequential ignition. The ECU im using has this capability so I thought I would use it. I dont know if there will be much gain by doing this at low to mild power levels but it will leave head room for later on i hope.
