your seats look at bit tired, get more fresh looking ones and also get the wood grain surround for the shifter

The seats aren't too bad at all. Drivers is worn, rest are pretty mint. The velour probably looks dirty in the photo.

No more woodgrain will be making its way in there.

Nice Fairmont mate, looks good. Its got all the Ghia extras so you dont need to be hunting around for things like chrome door handles, leather shifter handle, woodgrain, driving lights and so on which most people are after. Id chuck a woodgrain shifter surround in tho just to match the woodgrain on the doors, but thats me, i love woodgrain in Fairmonts lol.

Bit of a let down with the Series 1 EF Ghias not having the tickford extras but im guessing it still has an LSD with the 3.23 ratio? If so thats all good, better than single spinning around corners

Got any plans in the engine department?

I don't know what the diff is, I think it might actually be a single spinner. Somebody should be able to confirm that.

Performance wise? mods will be happening in the next few months.

I want a lower ratio LSD, maybe a 3.45. That will be the first thing. After that I want the head cleaned up and a mild cam.

I know at that point I will be wanting Paccies, a good cat and 2.5 inch piping, but I want to keep the stock exhaust, its growly but quiet. I have no clue what any of this will cost however :D

Tinting and suspension has to come first though.

its a good base to start with !!

dont waste your time with 3.45's..... ive got 3.73's and it still feels very doughy in 1st gear and only does 2100rpm @ 100kph.

3.9 or 4.11 is what the autobox needs

Looks like a nice clean starting point to go from, good pick up. might be a bit biased but i do love EF Mont Ghias. :D

I do agree with FordFairmont, forget the 3.45's i got 3.73's and i want lower too.

Will keep an eye on this thread so keep the updates coming.

Trent

Thats alot better than i thought. I was expecting it would do 2500 or something. s**t mine basically does 2000 or so at 100 atm. WTF does that mean?

Thanks for the comments guys. I cant decide what I wan't to do wheel wise atm, but lowering and tints is a definite. Id love the lower it now, if I get 17's and tyres with the correct profile to match the current overall diameter, It should stay the same height right?

sounds like youve already got 3.45's in the diff. When mine had the factory 3.23 fairmont diff, it did 1850 rpm's @ 100kph

Yeah im with FordFairmont on that one, you probably already have 3.45 cause mine does about 1800rpm at 100k and im sure ive got 3.23s. Im guessing its LSD to so you're lucky lol

Mine does about 1800 as well, so I do in fact have 3.23. Good to know.

Yeah probably got 3.23's then, and im pretty sure if its an LSD it has the tag on the filler bolt like you said. Easiest way to find out if you've got an LSD is give the tyres a bit of a warm up  , pull a skid and see if you have made 2 black lines lol
