When I was cleaning her I was looking at the blinker on the side of the car ( near tickford badges ), I was thinking that they would look better in white/clear. Is it possiable to get ones that would fit?

LOL that bloody red stripe is starting to get a lot worse, I will have to get onto that soon...

The goal is to have the car ready within 5 weeks ( Head, cam, J3 , Silver agents, maybe the red stripe ) and with 175rwkw +, then I will be able to start attending meets whoo hoo....

In general the to do list still entails...
- Silver Agents
- Tickford Kit
- Finishing Head
- Finishing Cam
- BA XR Seats * Still working out how they can be installed legally *
- Tune + J3
- Eventually Getting Wolf V500 or V550 to replace J3
- Terry Intake piping
- Installing Audio System

And thats it for now....

Been mucking around with the car today...

I noticed that the ariel for the radio seems to be broken... Im pretty sure the Ariel is supposed to go up when the car turns on and down when the car is off??

However, is seems to be stuck half way down, how do I go about pulling it out?

Take the front wheel off. Remove plastic inner gaurd. Have fun with rusted muddy bolts lol

Still looking around for some clear side blinkers but no luck yet...

I was having a look at some of the other threads and what's everyone's opinion on putting white leather/suede/ other material on the door inserts?

I have seen a few red Xrs with red inserts and it looks good, but I'm not sure if the white would be tok much?

If you intend to drive it a lot, white will easily get grubby fast with peoples arms against them.

Something to consider.

Cheers

Good point Ben, the car is barely driven and is cleaned often so it should be ok. I'm more worried it will look out of place or strange having the white.
I want to bring the white more into the car though as it really needs it..

Well my cam and head from CVE is about 3 weeks away now, and a dyno run not far behind that...

I decided I'd better change the oil in the old girl before we give her a run on the dyno. Just looking into whether I should be using the oil recommended by ford ( 15w40 ) or if another type would be better for the modified engine...

Unfortunately I have to drive the XR as a daily for the moment as my '89 Mazda 323's brakes failed on me as I went out of my driveway. Lucky for me I only went shooting out my driveway, across the road and up the curb before stopping.... Yeah I hate that s**t...

Bought some Autoglym today... Will have a crack at fixing the stupid stripe.... Looks really bad at the moment so decided its time to fix it.

Will chuck up some pics when I have a go with the autoglym tomorrow...

Try the autoglym first but mostly respraying the strip with a really good red paint is a permanent fix.

Yeah I'll see how the autoglym goes but I might end up painting it yet...

I'm interested to see how your interior will go with the white door trims (if you do it). I have been thinking about doing something like that but unsure about how it will look!

Yeah it's further down my to do list but I'll be giving it a crack. Hopefully in a couple of months, have to finish with the head and cam and also want silver agents first..
