Damn Troy.

First time I have seen that happen.

Easy fix though.

Cheers

well....
ford spare parts warranty is a crock of s**t, a** holes wouldnt replace a broken belt tensioner under warranty, excuse after excuse, first was that i didnt get the car towed to their service department, 2nd was because i removed the tensioner, 3rd was that the top section that had broke off was missing/ lost on the hume hwy..
then they tried to say it only failed because of a forign object getting jammed in the belt??. wtf.
they then state, if they were to accept it i would have to wait for ford in melbourn to perform a csi investigation to find out if the part failed due to a manufacturing fault..
and they would also require proof that the car has traveled less than 20'000kms plus supply the cars vin number and kms..hmmmm
i can understand if the car was still under factory warranty, but the car is about 15 years out of warranty!
SO FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT CAN GO SUCK A BIG FAT ONE!!!!

so f**k them...lol
i went and picked up a new belt and a dayco tensioner and its back on the road, again....lol

so unless your car is std or under factory warranty dont bother with genuine parts warranty, because its a crock of s**t......

i didnt overly expect them to but its under warranty so why not try..
their still a bunch of C**k suckers though..
i am qualified just not regestered..
at the end of the day they were not interested ..
esentually they wanted the vehicle to have been towed there, could you imagine there shock when they open the bonnet of the ed to find a engine thats not ment to be there and modified at that...

Its prob easier to get the carbon tax removed then to get something under warranty from a car dealer

I can imagine their shock & the look of horror on their face if they took a good look at your car!

That's why you go to places like repco for stuff like that, if it was a dayco tensioner, you give the rough kms that it was fit, current kms, receipt & it will be sent away to dayco, usually things like this come back saying to replace them, rarely do they get knocked back on warranty.

Cheers

to be honest i only brought the genuine one because it was at a trade staff discount price..
funny enough, the dayco one is a ford one with the ford oval machined off.. so the genuine ones are made by dayco...

Lol I have a similar story with ford not fulfilling their warranty and wanting to do a 'csi' investigation too. Everyone I have come across in the service and parts departments (apart from Papa ofcourse) has been an arrogant prick and the main reason I bought a Subaru over a new Ford because I know what they are like!!
