gas injection seems to be the goods, apparently the $500 setups on ebay are fairly good, i havnt had a chance to see one up close but i think its a great idea. its tempted me to put the lane on straight LPG

Gas injection setups are good if they are big enough to power your engine. Mine doesn't appear to be, altho there may be a reason i haven't worked out yet for it behaving the way it does.

It's hard to find info on injector flows & convert power outputs in this country, also not so easy to find places willing to sell injectors & converter for your custom installs...

Cheers

Yeah, seen it man. I don't think it can support much if any more power than my current system.

Cheers

It's not just the injectors that are the issue. You then have the regulator & converter, how much power than they support? Mine are rather small, the converter is supposed to only support up to about 200kw flywheel iirc.

I have considered upgrading my injectors, but my gas ECU only know's about up to 21lb injectors. If i run bigger injectors as the 21's that my ecu know's about, i might get it running better. But i can't find out what electrical specs the injectors i have are.....

Cheers

That i knew. You also need a bit more LPG to make the same power as petrol, so a bit bigger injector is required.

Cheers

Jay, BRC is the way to go. I am setting up my son's 383 Clevo with tunnel ram, twin T/bodies, alloy heads and straight gas injection. Using a Mega Squirt to drive it, BRC injectors are the same Ohms as petrol. Just put the heads on today so a little way off yet. My computer is playing up and I can't download any pics of the other injection systems we run at the moment. Regards Alan TPVM.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for that info. The guy I was speaking with today is running a BRC system. If I had the money I'd rush out & buy it, and replace what I currently have, and I too would run it with a megasquirt, or if i felt a tad lazy, a J3 modified factory ecu.

I was thinking about some BRC injectors, a smallish BRC converter & what not to run the mighty boy, but i don't know if i can get a small enough gas tank to fit under the ute.

Cheers

Been driving the EB Ghia back & forth to work the last few days, idle & low down power until 3500 rpm is a big improvement since the LPG tuneup i did (with laptop & software). Over that it feels like the car runs out of fuel, or the timing has advanced to a stupid degree & it has no go. Hrmmmm. I know it's almost time to replace the filters again, so i should do that soon.

Petrol wise, i have been having a few startup issues, but when the coolant is warm enough, it will start up on LPG very, very quickly. Petrol fuel pump & filter were very recently changed. No vac leaks i think, car drives too well to have a vac leak.

I'm thinking injectors and or fuel reg might be to blame. If they are, the petrol injection timing events will be all wrong causing the LPG timings to be wrong too. I should run a diag on it & see what codes pop up soon....

Cheers

My thoughts on the black side bolsters & grey stock middle bits, in a poor photo edit, I'm not very good at pic editing, but it gives an idea. One that i like. I think the black breaks up the grey nicely.

Thoughts? I know i can't afford to do it for a good while yet, but it might be on the cards....

Cheers
