s**t man, that sux.. how can people not see.. seriously..
i hope it gets fixed.. if not buy it back for cheap and throw the kit on one of the XR8's with the XR lights  (tho i know yours are EB's) tho to be honest i like the EB XR8 more then the ED XR8's... there is something about the stock front end thats just sexy... XR nose cones have been done too many times. shame about the leather trim.. will be a pain in the a** to find another one |

lucky you hadn't got the GT flares on yet. and remember if you need parts there is a stupidly cheap wrecker in Marong like i got a reo and boot for mine for 15 bucks

It's repairable man, pillar isn't bent, but hinges are buggered. Bonnet edge is also bent from the top of the guard hitting it. Door trim is going to be a PITA, will be near impossible to get a good s/h one to replace the damaged one. I'm going to enquirer about what it will cost to be repaired.
My Xr8's are EB's, but i do have one set of the ED Xr lights & grill. To go onto the red Xr8 for my g/f. I have a bonnet & guard already, and i have already checked availability of the door - wreckers has plenty in stock. The front bar is going to need work, it's been twisted. Lucky the flares are not on it yet! Cheers ToranaGuy

Wanted to BUY - Drivers door FULL Leather door trim to suit EB2 -> ED Ghia. Anyone have one out there? Must be in really good to great condition!

go see a good motor trimmer. they might be able to order some leather from word and replace it on that trim, or give them a 2nd vinyl trim for them to strip and then place the new leather on that and use your old insert from the damaged trim... alot easier then finding someone who will let go of 1 mint condition trim (if any exist these days)

I spoke with a trimmer this arvo, who did my drivers seat & will be doing some other work for me. If i can supply a gli or futura spec he can modify it to fit my leather & wood bits & cover up the hole for the window winder. I just need to supply another door trim. I hope i still have a drivers trim in the shed, i threw a few trims out a few mths ago.  I also asked about retrimming my leather & velour recaro's in the Xr8, the bolsters, changing from grey to black - between $240 & $300 a seat was the quote, not as bad as i was thinking. Gotta go look in the shed to see if i have a trim... Cheers ToranaGuy

I've been busy @ work and have not had a chance to speak further with the trimmer about what door trim they require. Futura would be closest, but unless i can get one from a power window futura, it will have a gaping big hole in the trim! I wont settle for just having a plug stuck in the hole like some dealer fitted power window kits were!
In other news, i got some bits from work to do a service on it this w/e, needs the belts replaced, front brake pads replaced, a oil change & air filter changed. I hope i get some good weather to do it. I have not year heard back from the insurance in regards to when it's getting assessed. Cheers ToranaGuy

I was advised it would have been assessed by today, or i would at least hear from the assessor. Neither has happened. I might have to give them a call tomorrow to ask wtf is up.
