{USERNAME} wrote: Cool, did you get much done today then? ah not really slept most of the morning  went to centrelink and ran into the bloke who bought my old xe so i had chat lol then went to bunnings and bought a fiberglass kit to fill in the holes on the bumper, repco and got some red engine enamel and 6 cans of degreeser for $10, then came up home and got some sand paper from mitre 10. i sanded the rocker cover back and painted it but its not looking good ive got paint stripper in the shed so ill strip it back and paint it. i also sanded the fins back on the black rocker cover shame its different to the rocker cover the ute has as it looks pretty good.theres pics and once there uploaded i will post them up also i drove past a barina that had been converted into a ute shame it was moving i would of got a photo it looked very weird

Holy jesus, who would bother doing anything to a barina?
 And why doesn't the rocker cover from the EB engine fit your XG's? They should be the same engine. And the only difference between rocker covers in the E series in the EF/EL which had the semi-circle as a part of the rocker cover rather than the gasket. At least I'm pretty damn sure

At least I'm pretty damn sure the one from the eb is completely flat the one in the ute on the other hand has that little circle bit i was quite suprised when i noticed this

Still, weirder stuff has happened.. yea i guess the ute is a very late ed motor? also some good news if i be good and dont touch the money in my account over the weekend i get paid monday by centrelink and if boyer bes good and pays me correctly they owe me from last shut and this one the ute may be regod next week

Yeah you should easily get something nice for $1500.
There's been a 1991 EB Fairmont in the paper. It needs a new bar, light and bonnet, but it's only $450. It's got a velour interior apparently, I'm not sure if it's registered or not. You should be able to grab a light from your EB, and the bar. And convert it to LPG with a second hand system later on. A nice Fairmont daily for less than 1K..
