omg u serious thats a good deal, ure dreaming if u think u will find the parts cheaper, god i brought my headlights new and they were cheap new and it cost me 700 just for the headlights.
most wreckers are gonna want well over a grand for a full front end conversion.[/quote]

I'm not dreaming - and I will not pay $700 for lights either! IF, and it's a bloody big IF, it comes to bying lights for $700 I MAY consider it.

For now - I'll keep hunting for a wreck to salvage them from!

Yeah I know - and that's cool, but too much at the moment! Ideally, as stated - I'd prefer to find a wreck to salvage from. (Alot of luck needed - I know!).

If it comes time to fit all my parts, and I still don't have the headlights etc.. then I MAY consider it.

For now - I wait :!: :)

WHY!? Do you think that $140.00 is cheap for indicators!?

I can't say that I have priced them (as yet) from ford, but $140 is NOT cheap for what they are!

Anyway - as stated earlier, I'll keep searching for a wrecked XR6 to source them from! (for now).

Cheers - Matt. :D

XR6 parkers & indicators are housed within the same indicator unit. $140 per side is about right for indicators on their own. from memory they retail around the $170 mark.

you'll be looking @ $1500+ for an XR wreck, and also under the assumption you find one with an intact front end. i have gone through the process of investingating (and have purchased) a wreck to salvage for parts - its a pretty lengthy process.

any wreckers will charge you a min of $1000+ for an XR front all up, plus you'll need spraying.

Didn't know that the parkers were housed in the indicator unit :!: :o

If $140 per side sounds o.k. - and if it comes down to it - then I will go for it.

As for the headlights, I feel that nearly $400 EACH is nothing more than fraudulant. A close relative of mine is a panel beater / spray painter, mainly working on porsche's (inc' porsche cup cars), amoung others. A porsche GT3 (sealed) headlight is around the same figure, approx $400, as I have been quoted for an original XR6 headlight :!: :!: :!: So, who's getting ripped off :!: :?:

As for the rest of the conversion, I have front and rear bars / bonnet and boot spoiler (off camh1980) all original xr6 - all I need is lights and indicators! (in the middle of preping parts for paint!).

If I can't find a wreck to salvage from - and when i'm up to fitment stage of conversion - then I might HAVE to consider allowing myself to be ripped off!

Until then - the hunt continues!

Cheers - Matt. :D

P.S. - if you hear of anyone who is wrecking one (with lights etc..) PM ME!

P.P.S. - What does FORD charge!? Anyone know?
