hi guys, been browsing your forum for a wee while.
the problem i have is 08 territory .replaced the front window switch and the other three with new ones(ebay) .every now and then the drivers window refuses to work. all the others work. if i unplug the main switch itll start working again!! ive pulled the drivers motor apart and its working fine. any ideas? its almost like it needs resetting? cheers |

The main issue with ANY car electrical power window switch is the electrical contact points within.
Each time you push the button, it causes a small arc & deposits a spot of carbon on the contacts. Which means window will go down but not up or visaversa. This can be fixed by disassembling the switch & scrape the contacts clean, or just resort to vigorously poking the switch until it scrapes the carbon off & makes contact. Also note (learn from my mistake) that the 2 separate metal contact points inside the switch can be different shapes slightly, so make sure if you pull it apart that the metal tabs go back in their correct side, or it won't work again. |

Tripping an electrical circuit temporarily means there'd be a circuit breaker on that part of the loom.
Check a wiring diagram to confirm/deny. Otherwise there's usually nothing on an electrical circuit to trip other than the fuse. No circuit breaker & no blown fuses means the issue is with the switch. |
