OK, just putting it out there for ANYONE who owns or anyone you may know who owns an FG Ford Falcon..
A couple of months ago the ESC/ABS warning alarms started showing up on the dash board, either as soon as I started the car or after I first used the brakes..
I thought it may have been related to a recent, and 1st wheel alignment I had done to the car, but it wasn't...
The alarms stopped coming on after about a month and all seemed good...
I just had the XR serviced last Friday and asked the dealer if they could investigate the problem. Naturally, they said they found nothing because the ECM had logged no fault codes and I was STILL non the wiser as to the aforementioned problem...
Low and behold, 3 days later on my way into town, the ESC/ABS fault alarms came on AGAIN!!.. so I immediately took it to the Ford dealer to have someone inspect it while the alarms were still showing.. I left the car running while I went inside to tell them about the problem happening again...
So, a guy came out and took a look at the dash and said to me.."Put your foot on the brake.." So I did, depressing the brake pedal several times as he stood behind the car...
He said to me.."You've got no brake lights..(NON AT ALL!!).. It's a FAULTY BRAKE SWITCH..Yeah, it's a common problem.." WTF?!!!
So, I've just been driving around for the last 2-3mths with this problem, when the alarms come on I HAD NO BRAKE LIGHTS...AT ALL!!! And they couldn't tell me this may have been my problem ALL along???
Needles to say, I had my car IMMEDIATELY booked in to be fixed the next day (under warranty of course!!)
Now, the point is.. I was lucky to finally resolve this problem before something happened, but if somebody rear-ends YOU because you have no brake lights, it's YOUR FAULT! It seems wrong, but that's the way it is...
So if you know anyone with a late model Ford who may be experiencing the same problem, or anyone for that matter, PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!!! pass this message on! It could save them from a very expensive and unnecessary damage bill...

Thanks...

Cheap pads squeal like cheap hookers, and you can take that to the bank.
