BA heater direction controls not working.
ICC display is working, shows that I pressed the face/defrost/floor buttons.
I can hear the motor try to change the setting but nothing happens.

These are prone to 2 issues as far as I'm aware...

First is lack of hot cold change which is a broken mixer shaft (dash out job)...

Next is a faulty HIM Module which causes lack of directionality or air (sounds like your issue)...

This is a dash out job in a BA plus the old HIM needs to have it's information inhaled into the Ford diagnostic gear, the new module installed and then the information exhaled into it... I think the HIM module is like $700? It'd take more than half a day for a Ford technician to do i think...

I'd be ringing Ford and inquiring if I were you... Been a long time since I heard prices back... Feel free to write back what the cost of the repair is... Unfortunately it's hard to do yourself because you still need the Ford IDS to do the inhale exhale...

Cheers,
Tim

I used to move cars for a Ford dealer/service department, may have to have a chat with the workshop manager.....

Don't think the physical thing of actually changing it is that hard, it's the computer side that inhibits most people from changing it themselves...

Dash comes out pretty easily in the BA I think... Driver seat needs to come out to undo the handbrake... Steering column comes right out, unbolts at the floor, the captive nuts in the plastic usually spins... Easier to break the plastic off and just use two spanners... Couple of bolts in each end, one near the footrest and some over the top maybe... Been a while since I've been involved in one now...

HIM module mounts off to the left of the main heaterbox has like 3 or 4 plugs in it and 3 or 4 output servo drives to various shafts... Common problem in the BA... Think they moved to a new supplier for either BF or FG...

Cheers,
Tim

Here is a link to where yo can get details regarding what you need to do. As Tim says, sounds like either the shaft needs replacing, which you can buy from a Ford dealer or, the HIM is cactus. If the HIM is, when you change it, it will have to be programmed to your vehicle, either by a Ford Dealer or???
