G'day there! My climate control on 96 EF Falcon is playing up - it comes on after about 10 minutes or so. When it's on it is fully operational. The problem has been gradually getting worse - a few months ago it would take a minute or 2, now its a minimum of 10 minutes.

Would it be easier to trouble shoot the problem, get a new climate control system, or downgrade to the normal non-electronic climate control?

Cheers in advance!

Hello,

Have a look here. ford-technical-document-climate-control-diagnostics-d9

There is more info that may help at the Tech. Docs tab above.

Hello,

When it starts, it may not show faults. Take out the Dash unit, and re-fit as there may be a bad connection. ( look at the contacts ) I dont have one in my Car, so I am trying to show you where there is some info that may help you.

Would it be easier to fit a manual climate control rather than electronic / auto? Because (and I'm assuming here) there'd be less sensors?

Hello,

I have not fitted it. Look at how to fit it, ( Tech Docs Tab above ) and see if it would be easy to remove. It is a dash out job to fit. It still could be an easy fix, so find out what is wrong before you remove it.

If the removal and re-installation of the control unit doesn't fix this, it's probably a dry solder in the unit itself.

If that's the case, I'd suggest getting another unit which is known to be ok, fitting that and seeing if that fixes it.

Too easy. I've got another climate control module on order so I'll be able to see if it's the module or not. Cheers for the help
