i bought a trailer wiring harness from supercheap n just been a little confused as to installation. I've been looking behind alot of panels in the back of my ef wagon, looking for an 8 pin plug to easily plug in the one that is on the wiring harness but the only one i found is supplying power to (i haven't tested/checked yet) indicators, stop lights, tail lights.

with this in mind, the plug on the wiring harness only has two wires to carry on the power to the lights, whereas the plug on the car has 4 wires. Is there another 8 pin plug or is this it? if so has anyone else had this issue and just spliced in more wires into the trailer harness to be installed?

sorry if this isn't the most well worded post, i've been slammed with work and jobs at home, so spare time is currently measured in minutes.

you will have to be more specific about the plug kit..

have a look at this and see if you recognize any of them.

I have an EF wagon that I put a towbar on ages ago.. from memory I wired it all up in the cavity behind the drivers side tail light (under that plastic cover) as that is where all the needed wiring is.

I'll have a look tomorrow morning and maybe take a photo.

suggest you post a clear picture of your trailer harness - if made as patch harness usually just unplug original wiring connector to rear light and put your harness inbetween some require seperate circuit to opposite light for other flasher

if the 1st pic is the only connection to your trailer [as in 2 pin plug] . . . . . . . . it won't work

and to think supercheap would sell something for a specific vehicle that doesn't actually do what its supposed to :(

thanks Mad2 I guess i'll have to splice some more connections on the harness before connecting it
