I'm replacing the head unit screen on my FG Falcon with an aftermarket screen that has CarPlay. However the stock screen obviously has the HVAC info on it. I want to replace that with a small LCD and display things like fan speed, temperature setting, outside temp, etc.

I can get this data from FORScan from the HIM module. Does anyone happen to know how to get this data just using a basic serial connection? Like the mode and PIDs? Or how can I sniff FORScan to get this info?

You sorta cant. Something like this will be coming out from Aerpro sometime (See the one they just released for a Commodore).

Arduino, CanBus Shield, and a Display should work to do it. Im working on something similar, but have been delayed as I dont have an FG (at moment - previously had a '14 turbo)

You'll also need to DIY an in-Cabin Temp Sensor as part of this
