I have just replaced the batteries in my 2 remotes which unlock the doors on my el. They do not work at all and the led does not come on. I checked the polarity of the battery, just in case, but that was ok.I also checked the new batteries with my multimeter.
Any suggestions please
Thanks

This has got to be something simple you've overlooked...

The remotes work before they went flat?

Did you fit the correct 12v battery to the remotes? There is a few batteries very similar sized to the correct 23A 12V battery...

Is there no corrosion on the battery terminals? Did you bend them in a little bit as they bend out with use...

Pretty hard to blame the car if you can't get the LED to come on in the remote...

Cheers,
Tim

Hi,

As long as you have not put them in the wrong way, the contacts may be loose. I have had to bend mine in a few times to make a good contact. It could also be worth cleaning them by using a pencil rubber.

Hi,

See if the boot switch works. The Wagon had the same Fob, but not the button for the boot. With the cover off the switch is there. If the light doesn't come on the unit is faulty, or not programmed to the car.
