Just wondering if a 6tac ecu will still work with my auto and non tickford engine. I am swaping motors soon to a tickford with manual box but I need to get car running with the motor and box in it now.

6TAC is a manual ECU. Will not run the Auto.

Sell the 6TAC, and get a J3 chip. Get two tunes on it - one for Tickford Manual, one for tickford Auto, and use it with your existing ECU. When you change to manual, you simply put a jumper on to select the Manual tune (or remove jumper - depends on how you have it done).

www.tiperformance.com.au sells them

what Nigel said, or go pick up a cheap standard auto ECU.

I reckon getting a second ECU would probably be the cheaper option, especially if you have already paid for a 6TAC.... I know mine wasn't cheap, but I struck gold cos it already had a chip in it also..
