unlike impeco equip on previous falcon this unit back-fires
since explosion and fire in sa recently some consern
recent show the inventors displayed lpg injectors

well from what ive gathered the car has caught fire and naturally this woudl have been quite the vision so maybe thats why it was posted in a/v

LPG backfires because the flame front goes back from the intake valve not sealing correctly or grossly incorrect cam timing. Sometimes it happens because the ECU fires the spark plugs at the wrong time although this is less likely to happen on a car with a dizzy rather than multicoil packs.

My LPG backfires if there's something wrong with the ignition - faulty leads or plugs usually.

yeah had this happen to me in my fatrher-in-law's BA gas C/C ute the other night ... laboring up a hill ... had nearly 2 ton in the back of it ... on a long hill .... she no like ... it was time for spark plug replacement as well.

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM ... misfiring and bad idle ... stopped the ute ... turned her off ... let it sit ... start her up and drive off gently.

scared the s**t out of the other half though.

Gotta love the springs on the BA airboxes now ... the rubber seal around the airfilter was kncoked about though.

Used to get this in a 2000 triton under heavy load. Changed for colder spark plugs and was fine. You can get a blow-back fitting for the intake to stop it blowing the air filter off too.. around $50
