Car's inihibitor switch broke up and car thinks it's in gear and wouldnt start. I replaced the switch but still wouldnt start, Im not sure if anything else is missing at the metal piece that comes out of trans but that piece of metal just rotates freely inside the switch so wouldnt actually turn the switch itself. IS THERE A WAY TO BYPASS THIS SWITCH AND START THE CAR SO I CAN TAKE IT TO THE SHOP

Pull the front connector on the inhibitor switch and short out the red/blue & black/green wires.

Thanks much Snap - that shouldnt affect gear switching like - it wouldnt make it go on just 1 gear.

No probs. That metal shaft freely moving doesn't sound good, but first things first, try the front plug. You may still need to put a resistor across 2 wires of the rear plug to fool it into thinking its in drive.

Thanks Snap - so I short the 2 pairs in the front connector and the one in the rear connector - that doesnt mean the car will take off when you start - but only when i put the lever onto gear - that right ? and with the rear connector - should I just put on it one of the resistors from inside the switch itself - or can that be just short out straight

Snap - I owe you one - it works, the car started and it also thinks it's on drive, only that airbags and abs lights are ON now - but it goes. Cheers mate
