I've been told to run E85 in my falcon, if I'm going to turbo it. Now, I haven't really looked into the ethanol fuel much, but what are the benefits of running E85 over 98?

its cleaner, cheaper and has a higher octane, the down side is you will consume it about 30% faster than premium 98..

Sweet, cheers troy. Not an issue with fuel consumption, the turbo build is for fun, so only for the track etc :)

There are only 5 servos in QLD selling E85, and it isn't consistent. You then have to buy it by the barrell @ $2.50/L

yea ive heard the e85 varies from 70-85%, so at the cheaper servo bowser price you dont get consistant quality..

i dont think its worth it...

IDK, 100L / $250. Car only being used for maybe 5-6 runs down the 1/4 Mile a month. I'd pay that to have a better fuel.

E85 also has very good cooling properties simular to methanol. Plus with the amount of if you can burn for a given amount of air you will have around 5% more energy. Another thing to consider is you will need to size your fuel system 30% bigger than what you would need for unleaded.

The pump fuel varies from 70% in winter to 85% in summer. In queensland it is more like 73% min because of the warmer climate. Well thats what I found last year. You can always stock up with the cheaper pump fuel in summer when it has the higher percentage ethanol.

Could you keep the factory lines and just get a better pump and bigger injectors?
